Omar Sosa
Toro Del Mar Sosa
Born and raised in Mexico, Omar Sosa developed a strong sensitivity toward the animal world from an early age, particularly through his yearly exposure to the culture of bullfighting. This experience deeply influenced his path and continues to inform his artistic commitment to animal protection.
Trained as a dentist and passionate about art from an early age, Omar Sosa developed his artistic practice under the guidance of artistic mentors who contributed to the evolution of his technique, his exploration of different media, and his constant search for new forms of expression. As a painter and gallery owner, he has developed a personal visual language that brings together symbolic pop art, figurative art, abstraction, and surrealism.
Clinically diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger type, in adulthood, Omar Sosa integrates this personal experience into his artistic approach. Sensitive to issues of inclusion and diversity, he seeks, through both his journey and his art, to contribute to a greater recognition of the many different ways people perceive and interpret the world.
His work explores the connections between emotion, symbolism, nature, and the human condition, while constantly pursuing new visual and technical approaches. Through his artistic practice, Omar Sosa also places particular importance on respect for children, the protection of all living beings, and fundamental human values such as empathy, compassion, and dignity.
